I'm replacing a service and going from overhead to underground.

The homeowner asked me to also install a 1-1/2" for fiber. How deep should I bury that pipe for the fiber line?

Google showed 2 inches in one answer, and 30 inches in another 🤷‍♂️ 20220131_223714.jpg

Fiber and broadband depths aren’t under the NESC either.
Around here it’s buried just under the leaf litter..

If you already ditching for power, no reason not to pipe it along side at same depth as power. That would also avoid confusion in future excavations, someone finding the fiber piping above and thinking they can now go gang buster and then break into a live power line deeper down because of depth differences. I also lay in marker tape indicating seperate power and fiber in ditch.

That's a really smart idea
