there are several battery back up fluorescent light fixtures. We are replacing all the light fixtures with LED, but only replacing the bulbs and removing ballasts or bypassing them. But I don’t know what to do for the emergency battery backup fixtures.
Do you recommend buying new fixtures?
If so, what brand is there?
Thank you so much

Buying new fixtures is the least labor intensive option but your lead time to get them may be an issue

Just google emergency LED driver and stuff will pop up. Bodine for example makes them.

I feel they are labor intensive to install You have to get into the fixture. I like the ones with the flex whip and I'll prefab the set up on the ground or in the shop.

At the large hospital / research center that I retired from they used the garbage red bodine emergency ballast in countless luminaries . I would mark the date when I replaced them. Over 50% failed before 5 years. I could not convince them in to change over to quality wall pack emergency lights in switchgear & electrical closets. Could only convince them from doing away with two garbage business ballast in over 30 15 by 20' electrical closets. Each room had two lights in normal.power " two on emergency power. Building had three 2,000 KW CAT gen sets along with two incoming services with automatic tie breaker so they never list all.power . Best we're somebody ordered Bodine self testing emergency ballast for ORCrooms. Doctors got upset when one decided to self test in the middle of an operation.
