I am wondering what I can use to conviently support my laser level at say the height of bathroom vanity lights and wall scounces and such things. A tripod I got will work for plugs and switches, but for other things I usually cobble together boxes and wood scraps to get it to the height. Any idea's?

I set the level on the tripod, then measure up the required distance on the wall at various places and snap a line. I don't bother trying to raise the laser level to a specific height.

How about a wind up platform like the A/C guys use for installing ductwork. I've been intending to make one for installing large switchboards without a helper.
Another idea would be to make a bracket that you can mount where one of the lights will go.

Hows this.

use the tripod from the halagen work light
I can also strap mine to the side of a ladder
or a piece of conduit
if you are useing it to rough in boxes just fasten it to one of the studs
