I am planning to buy a tool belt for myself, but I have some questions in my mind, I know there are different types of tool belts out there, and the life span of each varies according to the usage, and material used to make the belt, etc. I just want to ask for a rough estimate of what's the average life span of a tool belt.

Anyone who owns a tool belt can answer it. It will be a great help.

Veto or tough-built are both very great in my opinion. Tough built is a way cheaper than veto but has done me good. Typically sold at Lowe’s. They even have clips you put on your belt and can take the pouch on an off without removing your belt.

I have an occidental commercial electrician rig. I love it. That said I only wear my bags when running conduit off ladders or similar tasks where back and forths to the cart aren’t productive. It’s American made and all leather. It costs more but I’m of the “buy once, cry once” camp.

I agree, my bags are occidental have the electrician bag on the right side and a drywall bag on the left, it the only bag with a spot for the impact driver, they are on a buckaroo belt. Have them going on 4 years and still look new.

I bought this leather one from Lowe's back in winter of 1992 when I started working for a local electrician. I carried it full time for several years until I graduated from college in 1997 and got a desk job. It gets used maybe once a week now and I keep it in my truck since all my friends consider me the go-to guy for cheap electrical labor...I like to trade electrical work for other thing I need. Works out. Anyway, I've always liked the leather one. I've swapped the bag on the other side of the belt several times but this one remains. It does have a few bolts and fixes now. e.jpg

I wear mine pretty much every day. Been doing this for over 40yrs and I’m on my 2nd. Good old school leather tool holster. Been thru about 5 actual belts, and another 5 side bags. Two old sayings ring true. You get what you pay for, and they don’t make things like they used too. Craftsman still makes a good leather tool holster.
