How many neutrals?

I'm pulling 110 volt circuits, to be exact, 3 circuits but they are not in order,2-4-6, they are 18,20 and 42. My question is, would I pull 3 neutrals or 2? This is a 3 phase panel, and I thought I needed a neutral with every 3 phases.
A-B-C and so on. I'd appreciate any information you could give me.Thanks

Re: How many neutrals?

18 - C, 20 - A, 42 - C. So 18 and 20 or 42 and 20 could share a neutral, but you could not share a neutral with 18,20, and 42. At the least you will need 2 neutrals. If your feeding harmonic loads I would use 3 neutrals.

Re: How many neutrals?

I'm pulling 110 volt circuits,
Just for clarity I would say that these are 120 volt circuits from a 3 phase, 120/208 volt Wye system. Generally 110 volt circuits originate from a single phase, 3 wire, center tapped 110/220 volt system.

If you can switch slot 42 and put it on slot 40 then you can use 1 neutral. #18 would be on the 3rd phase, #20 on the 1st phase and # 40 would put you on the 2nd phase. So if the breakers are in #18,20 & 40 you will be OK using 1 neutral. But if these loads have Harmonics in them then I would use a neutral for each circuit.
Bye now,
Jim

And when you switch 42 to #40 you just might be screwing up another multiwire circuit by moving #40 to #42. Best to carefully check this first before you blindly start moving any existing conductors around.
