I am replacing the cable that runs between my meter combo and the sub panel that powers the whole house. The reason is it’s currently run in a conduit that is in the way of some garage renovations and an SER cable will allow me to route it properly. The conduit is currently the ground connection between both panels. In the meter combo, there is a lug for the neutral and a smaller one for earth ground but no additional lug for feeder ground. The meter combo is likely the age of the house (1968).

This picture shows the two hots and the white neutral coming from the sub panel into this main disconnect. With an SER wire, I will have an extra ground wire that should be connected to neutral since it’s a main. The neutral and ground will be separated at the sub panel.
