I’m so confused. I took my admin test exam recently in WA state. It has a portion of load calcs and two of my questions were based on duplexes. I tried doing it as a single family and doubling it and as a multi family as far as using the demand factors for multiple appliances and still wasn’t getting a close answer out of the options. Can’t seem to find anything on the internet as well or any books that I own. Any advice? Thanks

Apply the standard calculation demand factors to the entire structure, rather than calculating one unit and doubling it.

Alternatively, use the connected load for one unit, triple it, and apply the 220.84 multifamily dwelling demand factor for three units. If it is lower than the standard calculation, you are permitted to use that lower value.

I’ll give it a shot. But I did apply all the demand factors for the entire structure. Didn’t get one of the answers listed

That duplex question seems to be very tricky for some reason. I remember when I took the administrator test it was on there and I couldn't get an answer that fit. Since then, I have seen that duplex test question questioned on this forum several times. I wish someone had the actual question and answer choices.
