Please see the attached image. Is this as simple as it appears to me to be?
  • Sensor ampere rating is 400
  • Ampere setting - continuous is 1X.
  • Therefore, this thing is set as though it were a 400 amp breaker.
I am sorta hoping I am missing something here. I am not confident the load or the feeder conductors are able to support a 400 amp feeder breaker. There are other breakers on this switchboard that have similar issues.

Me too. That's the potential risk of using adjustable trip breakers. They are SUPPOSED to be used "under engineering supervision" to avoid having idiots "crank 'er up" after it trips, but there is no shortage of idiots out there. I prefer those that have a little cover with a seal-able hasp on them.

Where do you find idiots with a little cover and sealable hasp?
Would that be duct tape over their mouth?;)

That is correct on 400A. I have found adjustable setpoint bkrs not set correctly for the conductors attached to the bkr with many just left at factory settings which it looks that VersaTrip may be set at.

400 Amp is max CT rating. If not confident about conductor size rating you can always bring setting down to .6 or .7x. Should always adjust when the breaker is de-energized.
