Please, If you could help me with a question. We have 100 -400 watt HPS fixtures , And If we change these to T5 HO fixtures what might be some of the disadvantages of going this route. We will be doing the maintenance on the new T5 HO fixtures. Any and all input is appreciated

Thank you for your time and input.

What is the application? Indoor? Outdoor?

HPS are absolutely the worst choice for indoor lighting due to their poor color rendering (22 CRI.)

I would not hesitate at all to change them to a better light source if they are indoor.

my experience has been that, after you cut thru all the sales hype, fixture mounting height is the key.
I've attended many meetings where sales pitches address tax incentives, energy savings, etc., but in every application to key is to provide enough fixtures to maintain light levels.
From a very unscientific, purely experience point of view the "breaking" point seesm to be about 25 ft. AFF.

These fixture's are inside, in a warehouse, and the change out is because of the energy costs. My concern is that we will have 2 ballasts and 600 lamps to service vrs 100 lamps and 100 ballasts per fixture
Thanks again
