I used to think I was a pretty good electrician. Now I just think I understand how to make things work. After reading a lot of the posts on these boards I have come to realize that although I understand a lot of the how to make things work, I am really lacking in my knowledge of the Code.

I want to thank all of y'all for taking the time to post on these boards. I hope you never tire from sharing your knowledge!

Hard, in my opinion, an understanding of electrical theory is what separates the "electrician" from the "mechanic". There's knowing the mechanics of the work, how to use the hardware, and then there's understanding why we do things the way we do them, and how to adapt knowledge to a new situation.

Learn both.
