Can some one tell me the requirements for a humidifier. A contractor mounted a 100 amp fused disconnect and the manual called for a enclosed circuit breaker. He said it is not code and left the fused disconect. There is water at the system and the non weatherproof disconnect is mounted under the 225 degree air and is within 3' of the unit. Does anyone have any info to help me with this please.

If the manufactures installation instructions are calling for a enclosed circuit breaker then it is a violation of 110.3(B) to install a fused disconnect.

I read the OP as saying that the humidifier installation instructions are calling for an enclosed circuit breaker and the contractor installed a fused disconnect instead.

Thats not what i read.
It is refering to the disconnect not what it supplies
