Are there any other fellow lineman, utility workers, or electricians heading down to Houston to help with restoration? We have a crew of about 10 lineman, 10 trucks heading down tonight. Just wondering if ill run into anyone from the site down there. I work for central hudson gas and electric out of Ny. We will be paired with a crew from PPL Ne district, once we get down there. Be safe my brothers.

There are a bunch of Austin Energy workers headed down to Houston today.

While I am no way affiliated with line work, I want to say God bless to all of you. :) A difficult job that few can do needed now more than ever as Texas recovers.

Does anyone know if they are going to need any Electricians I would assume you can't just. Go down there and say hey let me work

Maybe try contacting the Red Cross, FEMA, Habitat for Humanity, or other similar organizations if you want to volunteer to help.

sometimes the best thing you can do to help, is to saddle up
where you are, and send some money.

my tomorrows wages are going to red cross, earmarked texas.
the money i can earn doing what i do, serving the customers
i have, will accomplish far more than me throwing tool bags
in the trunk and driving over there.

As you said, "sometimes". If everyone just sent money there would be a lot of money but nobody physically doing any of the work;)

It's absolutley horrific down here. But the brotherhood/team effort is amazing to see. This is my first time really travelling this far, and seeing destruction this bad. But we've hotted up 4 circuits in the last 2 days, slow, but progress is progress.

One of my in laws is a retired lineman. He said, "Man I used to love to go to work when the weather was like this."
