Are we required to carry a grounding conductor in an emt conduit 50' to an HVAC unit? With no ground it is still bonded or we are still required to carry and equipment ground correct?

There is no limit on the length of EMT allowed to be an EGC. Fifty feet, five hundred feet, five thousand feet........it's all good.
There is a strong case to be made that with longer runs EMT is superior to properly sized wire EGS's.
