My understanding of class 2 low voltage wiring (24vac) is that the maximum VA is 100. Is this correct?
The application is providing 24vac to multiple VAV controllers. The VAV controller and corresponding load per controller is 27.6VA. With this limitation I can only power up 3 controllers. Does the code allow a greater VA rating on a transformer, say 250va, and still be within code allowances to distribute the 24vac in conduit and or plenum rated wire as a class 2 rating?
