HVAC Rooftop outlet 210.63

Anybody have a 1999 NEC? Can't find mine anymore...

I am trying to verify that the rooftop hvac outlets were not required under the 1999 code. In 2002 NEC, there is a fpn for 210.63 that says it was addded for the 2002 code but I just want to be sure.

Roof-top HVAC units were required to have a receptacle outlet installed under the 1999 NEC with the exception of 1 and 2 family dwellings.

THe FPN in the 2002 is for the GFCI requirements for the installed outlets.

Sam,

The FPN for GFCI was also in the 1999 code. The change is the requirement for the outlet on ground level equipment too. The 1999 cycle states the requirement for equipment
on rooftops and in attics and crawl spaces.
