Anyone had problems placing a hydromassage bathtub on a GFCI RECEPTACLE as opposed to a GFCI breaker? Thanks.

Re: Hydromassage bathtub

You mean a GFCI receptacle, I think of a plug as a male cord cap? No problems with the receptacle I wired mine that way.

Re: Hydromassage bathtub

We mount a blank-faced GFCI on the wall, and put a standard receptacle inside the access for the motor.

If using a GFCI Receptcle,
1.) on the wall, someone could plug something in that isn't intended,
2.) located inside the access and it trips, it is harder to get to to re-set.

Re: Hydromassage bathtub

Worse than harder to reset.
1. Hard to test the GFCI monthly.
2. How many homeowners would even know there's a GFCI receptacle inside their tub?

Re: Hydromassage bathtub

Ya right-

How many home owners test smoke detectors and gfi's? Maybe when the battery starts chirpping.
