I need to know what wire size to take up the service mast for a 150A service. I would like to use aluminum. I forgot my code book today. Thanks for your help!
Can I reduce the size of my neutral wire? Thanks for the answer Wayne!Since you seem to have internet access:
From the 75C column, 2/0 Al is 135A, and 3/0 Al is 155A. So for a full 150A you need 3/0 Al; but as the next lower breaker size is 125A, if the calculated load is 135A or less, you can use 2/0 Al protected at 150A. That would give you a 135A service.
Cheers, Wayne
Yes, sized to the maximum L-N load or (if I'm not mistaken) the minimum GEC size, whichever is larger. Can I reduce the size of my neutral wire? Thanks for the answer Wayne!
