I Line CB Installation 600 VAC

The Square D lit says take the power off the 600 volt distribution panel before installing a new I Line breaker. Can it be done safely with the panel energized? This is a 3 phase, 100 amp breaker. Thanks

No.

First and foremost NEC section 110.3(B) prohibits it.

If it were not prohibited by manufacturer's instructions, the activity would have to be conducted under NFPA 70E, Part II. A full formal Flash Hazard Analysis would have to be conducted AND documented.
