I’m obviously not smart enough to figure this out, and lack the requisite experience to troubleshoot.

It is my understanding that I can only bore a maximum of 40% through a load bearing stud—this puts me at approximately 1-3/8. Unfortunately, I have not found an 1-1/4 conduit (2 AWG wires) that has an outside diameter of less that about 1-1/2. Does a thinner wall 1-1/4 conduit of some variety exist? I suppose I could move the box over one bay and sister the studs but that would include quite a few more holes for Romex and I’d rather not.

If not, what are my options for having conduit come out of the drywall and not look like crap. Maybe some kind of PVC junction box?

Thank you for helping this amateur.
