I got snookered into a talking to some well driller/pump installers. The person who was supposed to do it can't make it. Snow bound.

I need a few pictures of residential or farm pump installations that don't quite measure up and/or some that are well done.

PM me if you have some you would share. I have lots of time to prepare...one o'clock tomorrow afternoon. 2 hour presentation.

What type of pump system are you setting? Deep submersible? Jet pump? What is the supply capacity needed? Is this a rural residential domestic supply or irrigation combined etc? There are too many variables that need details. If you are looking for how to set a deep submersible and know what GPM needed to the storage tank then Google F&W (Flint & Walling) submersible pumps for the installation guide. The instructions will answer many of your questions about cable size and pump size requirements for depth and flow rates needed. rbj

A well inspector will be there to tell them what they did wrong with the well installation, I am supposed to explain where they went wrong with UF cable stapled up the side of the house, no fusing, etc.

I see this all the time when looking at resi-ag installations. I have added a chapter to my latest book for installers. Even the pond systems have direct burial exiting the soil without enclosed raceway methods. Well installers are not electricians and electricians are not well pump installers in most cases. When ag installations are installed, generally the permit is bought off for the service disconnect out in the field. After the AHJ is gone, the 'barn' gets bootlegged and wiring done under the table. Sad but true. rbj
