Yesterday was a good day, I took the Washington State General Electrical Administrators test and passed on my first attempt. It was a good challenge. It made me find pages in the NEC that I didn't even know were there.

Virtually every time I go into the code book I discover a few pages or at least provisions that are enlightening. Congrats on passing.

And after only 17 posts. It takes most of us 100s of posts before we are ready for the exam. Good job and congratulations. It is something nobody can ever take from you, you earned it.

Hi Guys,
Thank you all for the nice comments, from the knowledge and experience at this forum it really means alot to me.
Wireman, the author I found the most helpful for the load calcs was Tom Henry, his "Calculations for the master electrican exam" or something like that...I don't have the book with me right now. Stallcup's Electrical design book also was helpful but I thought that Henry's was a bit more focused on the task at hand. I didn't purchase any of Mike Holts' calculation books but I did get his "Understanding the NEC" books and I can't imagine that I would have passed the NEC section without studying those books.
rcarroll, I would bet that you are a man of your word, and to help you prove it I could give you my address and you could send me the money for that beverage:roll:
360youth, I learned early on that I learn best when I take the cotton out of my ears and put it in my mouth, but hopefully I will soon be able to help other guys learn.
Minuteman, I am looking forward to getting back to work, I've been in school ever since the plant I worked at shut down, first time in almost 30 years that I've been without a job...it's drivin' me nuts.
