I used 1/2 inch rigid straps today

In my house to secure 2-2-2-4 aluminum cable today.
I asked for cable straps and that is what they gave me. Didn't notice till I got home. Worked great!
Knowing its a violation how many of us have used them for the same thing? ;

I’m sure I’ve seen emt clamps securing 8-3 NM.

I don't see the violation. I use straps like that all the time for SER and larger NM cable.

Unless they are listed for use on that cable I would think thats the violation.
But then again maybe they don't have any listing for anything. But it was stamped right on the strap 1/2 rigid.
