I used my new megger already (today)

Did an install last week for radiant heat, under tile floor. Contractor thought he may have nicked a wire while covering with thinset.

Resistance check was good and the megger verified the conductors were also good. How convenient

I am happy with the $262.98 Ideal 61-795 cost. The manufacturer wanted the resistance check done with 1,000 volts and it handled it nicely.

1000v sounds like a bit much for a 120v circuit. You may cause more damage than its worth.

It is a 240 circuit and 1000v is what the manufacturer wants per their testing specs.

Minimum IR test voltage for 600V rated insulation is 1000V, in a 240V system the insulation most likely is rated for 600V so the spec sounds right.
