IBC H2 & H3 Classifications

Does anybody know if there is a direct correlation between IBC High Hazard H2 & H3 occupancy classifications and NEC Article 500 classifications? For example is an IBC H2 occupancy always a Class 1 Div 1 location and an IBC H3 occupancy always a Class 1 Div 2 location? Or can a H2 occupancy be a Class 1 Div 2 location?

No correlation. Each has to be evaluated on its own merit.

Quanitity levels in H2 or H3 might increase or decrease your relative magnitude as shown in NFPA 497.

Leave the IBC to the architects.
