Identify
tools, materials etc , then pipe bending , basic therory , safety, basic code ,grounding.

But after that I got punched in the face with transformers , theory , motors , ,loadcals,

Andvanced theroy, etc . A lot of the questions were like electrical engineering towards the end .

i wasn't able to finish the hole test in the time that was givin .

Hopfully i still get to pass labor history , and start as 2nd year but will see what happenes.

im just glad I'm in and have the opertunity to join the brotherhood.

has anyone else taken this test for placement that could let me know how it went for them .

So they will allow you enter the NJATC program as a second or third year apprentice or do you need to start from the beginning?
I believe advanced placement in the program is the purpose of the test. When I took our local's test, I advanced to intermediate journeyman.

Over the years I have talked with a bunch of apprentices who were advanced placed and decided to start at 1st year anyway. I don't have an opinion on whether this is a good idea or not. I just find it interesting. If you are a good student and willing to do some work on your own time, you probably can catch up on the subjects you miss by starting in the middle. DC theory being the most important one IMHO.

I don't mind starting at bottom we're ever I land I end up .

Because the company I worked for prior to coming into the IBEW didn't have a licensed master, none of the hours I worked could be counted. I started as a first year. I took about a $5 hit in pay, but I don't regret it.

The IBEW training I had was phenomenal. I am glad I got to start at the beginning because if I didn't, the years I skipped would have meant missing the same amount of years in class.

Completing the IBEW apprenticeship all the way through was one of the best things I have ever done.

It depends on how I do on the test

For us you start as a TA1 (temporary apprentice 1st year). If you want to take a test and get "slotted" based on your test results you will become a helper not an apprentice and not be in the apprentice program.
