Just so you have at least 1 answer, I don't know. I took the ICBO electrical inspectors test several years ago. For me, it was easy cuz I was an electrician for many years. I never took a contractors test cuz I knew I would be a better electrician than a contractor. To tell you the truth, I don't think Colorado has a contractors test. Never heard of one any way. If this test is for your inspector cert., study like hell & good luck.

took ICC test on 2/17/07 - make sure you know how to size a residential service. This was about 20% of the test. Lots of grounding questions. I found reviewing the code forum from the EC&M website was very helpful. If you focus on sections 100-400 you'll be OK. About 85% of test was covered here. There really was only 1 or 2 "trick" questions that required going back and forth in the different sections to find the right section to use for the application described. Was the test easy? No, but it wasn't difficult

The ICC Commercial Electrical Exam...E-2 is pretty tough. I had to retake the exam for DC in November. Just know how to navigate the 05' NEC you will have 3.5 hours to do it. Study chapter 5.........trust me.

Rick,

I took all three ICC electrical tests, residential, commercial and plan review and passed on the first try.

I didn't find them too difficult.

If you put forth the effort and study as you did on your contractors exam you should have no problem with these test.

Remember time management is the key.

If you need some study guides go to the icc campus web site there is some test prep material there.

GOOD LUCK, and THINK POSITIVE, you should be fine

i took the icc contractor's test because we're required to have "icc licenses" to build in my area (not state regulated, yet). it had a 4 hour time limit and i was out in a little over a half hour. it was an absolute joke and waste of my money. i hope your electrical test isn't as pointless.

Rick, I just finished the Residential and Commercial Electrical Inspectors tests (E1 & E2) with the ICC. They werent that difficult, scale of 1 to 10; about 4to5.
