If an unscrupulous person(s) were to POST ACTUAL ICC EXAM questions on this forum and received the correct answer for actual exam questions, would that be cheating?

Yes. And if the moderators saw such a thing happening, we would remove the topic from the forum (i.e., move it to that mysterious "Moderators Only Forum").

Re: icc exam questions

There were some similar questions posted by myself, the questions were not word for word icc questions. That is the purpose of the exam preparation is post information and to get help from other in the electrical field. I am sure that icc as a data base of over 1000 questions, and if two or three awswers is given on this forum ,it will not impair the security of the icc test questions

Re: icc exam questions

Hi guys, i'm new to this site. I have taken and passed almost all of the ICC exams. The most difficult were the plans examining test. I always left comments on the test but never got any replys. So I applied and was accepted to an ICC exam development committie. I assure you that the test are written, reviewed, and checked for correct content often. I dont think that remembering a question and asking it to someone is wrong but to post them word for word would be allowing people to cheat and would lower the credibility of the people that have taken and passed the exams. I have no authority to speak for the ICC or to represent them in any way. This response is only my opinion. Good luck to all of you that study and pass.

Re: icc exam questions

I took the ICC residential and commercial inspectors exam on the 10th of this month, and to be completely honest, I thought they were a joke.

With all due respect, I felt they should have been much more challenging and comprehensive. For one thing, the questions were asked in chronological order with the code and I believe I was only required to perform 3 calculations between the two exams of a total of 140 questions. The questions were really as basic as it gets.

I have always been under the impression of a journeyman to master to inspector / instructor heirarchy for the electrical industry. These exams were only at the journeyman level and not up to par for what I personnaly feel an inspector should know. I was a little disappointed.

Re: icc exam questions

Anyone that takes an ICC exam and has comments about them should e-mail the ICC and let them know, GOOD or BAD. This is the only way the test can be improved.

I am not defending the ICC exams only offering an opinion.

bryan,
You would have loved the old ICBO tests. Two stages: 50 closed book questions and 50 open book questions (exact numbers may be wrong). Now that was a challenge. I think the IAEI tests are a joke as well. At least they were 20 years ago and 10 or so years ago the plans examiner test was also(didn't even get any plans).
On the other hand, the renewal used to be a joke, a 50 question take home test. Now you need CEU's to renew which I think is better. Continuing education is important.

Re: icc exam questions

The problem with the ICC exam is the wording. There were 4 questions on my test that the correct answer was not an option. Also several questions that were worded crazy with code violations. The plan reading is a joke also. Good luck.
