The code says (in part) can use conductors with insulated green or green with one or more yellow stripes for other than equipment grounding conductors.

Question; what are the other uses for this green wire ?:huh:

The Exception is referencing Class 2 and 3 cables and systems as well as communications and fire alarm cables.

It has been common practice to use the green wire in T-stat cable as a control conductors. Also cat 3 communications cables have used green as one of the conductors for many years.
