MH is an excellent website. Many thanks to the great contributors here.

A customer I work for has asked for my input in setting up a safety program for maintenance electricians and operators.

His idea is to have a short monthly electrical safety meeting. Should not be unwieldy.

They can be separate or joint sessions for the Operators and the Electricians.

Can any of you suggest good slide shows or videos that are of high quality, brief, interesting.

Topics to cover: Arc Flash; PPE; LOTO; other safety topics you might advise.

In my opinion the best you can do for your customer is recommend someone that is experienced in setting up a program.

I think the worst thing you could do was try to come up with one particularly after seeing this comment of yours in another thread.

Above 50V is considered PPE territory for industrial and commercial. Howsoever there is no Arc Flash PPE requirement for residential panels!!!!

There are plenty of companies and individuals that have these programs in place already that your customer can pay to set up a program for him. They have insurance to cover themselves in case something bad happens to somebody.

You may be mis-interpreting what I stated. "Howsoever there is no Arc Flash PPE requirement for residential panels!!!!" I did not say or imply that there is no arc flash possibility. I am saying that NFPA 70E is not mandated for residential panels. How many homes have PPE available??? Is that not true???? But are they mandated??? I am also NOT talking about working on live panel.....only operating breakers.

I accept the point re hiring a company to set up program and I am passing that on. Thank you for that.

So want this all free? You won't find much and you get what you pay for. I used to do this for a living and it takes hundreds of man hours to design a quality course to meet the mandated 70E training requirements. E-hazard offers excellent courses for safety nationwide as does Western Electrical Services in WA
