HI, I have a question that needs to be clarified. What the difference betwen an Identified conductor and a neutral conductor ?

Aren't they the same ? They both are considered the grounding return.

Thanks for any input :)

Where are you finding the term "identified conductor"? Grounded conductors are covered in Article 200.

The term "identified conductor" has been used to indicate a conductor that is part of a cable assembly that is "identified" by the use of a ridge(s) or other physical characteristic. This conductor is to be used as the grounded conductor.
200.6(A)(4) For aerial cable, the identification shall be as above, or by means of a ridge located on the exterior of the cable so as to identify it.
You will also find that type of identification on most two wire zip cord.
