Identifying chips

How does one go about identifying semiconductor components? I have DC-DC LED switch mode driver chip with:

TC1630A

T6602A

YHG


In so far a direct Google search isn't turning anything up.

This produces a number of results. Then try to correlate physical appearance, and possible function with what is on your board.

Most times today chips are custom made, especially if the unit is from China. Good luck trying to find a replacement.

Question, where did you get 1602 from?

I have no idea. It is a typo for 6602, but 1 is a long way from 6.
