IEC vs NEC. Can you say contest. This is no different than ICC vs IAPMO. Again, just a contest. Always follow the money.

My original post was edited. My frustration is the fact that there is very little training material specific to the ICC E2 exam, Unlike the B2, P2., and M2.

As a Building Inspector all I need is an approved set of prints. If it matches the prints I sign the card. I am not a plan checker or Electrical Engineer. I do not need to know theory or how to do calculations. I have passed every ICC exam the first time , (residential and commercial), with the exception of the commercial electrical. And yes I know NEC is under NFPA.

I don't care how a watch is built. I just want to know what time it is.

Just for the record your original post was edited because of the language it contained.

This is part of my diatribe. I would like some one from N.F.P.A. to be transparent. It is not about life safety, this is about control and most importantly money. Mr. Holt could all so chime in on this. Example: I.C.C vs IAPMO. _ I.C.C. sued IAPMO January 13, 2006.

Always follow the money.

The OP appears to be from CA and I thought they had their own state code, but the that is only hearsay.

For the rest of us who have no idea what this means can you explain it a little further?
It is the war between N.F.P.A. and I.C.C._ Similar to I.C.C. vs IAMPO. _"retired" knows the drill. He won't let you in on the dirty little insider secrets.

All ways follow the money.

Just made a bet with a co-worker in regards to how long it will take before this thread is deleted or I am banned. Welcome to N.F.P.A., aka 1984.

Rob, please don't take this the wrong way. Do you have any I.C.C. Certs ?
No offense, but ICC certifications are extremely easy to get.
About the same as General contractor or home inspector..
you have to be at least 18, and no work experience is necessary.

Licensed electrician on the other hand, requires work experience.

Don’t know why it would get deleted or you banned.
Your posts would make much more sense if you typed out some coherent statements rather than partial statements that do little more than confuse readers.

and the correct phrase from the movie is “follow the money”

No offense taken. My father is a retied Electrical Engineer from P.G.& E. And you ? Engineer /Technician ??

I do not mean any offense to Rob. I was a Union Journeyman Carpenter. . I was probably driving nails before you were born. I can no longer ware my bags due to health issues.

I am 100% in support of I.C.C. Some people call them "Cracker Jack Certs." O.K., what ever.

My beef is with N.F.P.A. due to their refusal to work with I.C.C.

Oh, and by the way, I met G.Gorden Lilddy in person. Brother I kid you not on this one. Very intense individual. :)

Have you taken the commercial test or just haven't passed it?
