I was told by a colleague that there is an IEEE standard that deals with heat trace and divisional power.

I was told that this standard indicated that 1E equipment did not necessarily have to be powered from 1E power. The example that was apparently used in the standard was the RWST (Refuelling Water Storage Tank). According to my source, this standard says that because of the nature of 1E power and heat trace that the use of heat trace on the RWST did not require divisional power because after an accident, like say a LB LOCA, the time between the break and the full use of the RWST will be such that the tank will be empty long before the loss of the heat trace has any effect.

Now, my question is this: What is the IEEE standard.

I am working on a project that is working on the heat trace on our RWST's and this will be useful information to have if I can find it.
