IG Receptacle

How do you bond the metallic box that the IG receptacle is attached to?

MC cable terminates at 4" square box . Cable only has 1 insulated equipment ground conductor?

What is used for box bonding?..

Cannot use regular MC for an IG.

You need a second separate EGC. Use a metallic raceway that qualifies or that MC that has a wire EGC and the sheath qualifies as an EGC.

Why do you need an IG?

You used the wrong MC cable. You need a cable that has 2 grounding conductors.

I thought so. 12/2 MC cable was present. Will need to run new .

I bet supply house is more likely to have HCF cable, which the sheath would be acceptable for EGC plus a green conductor inside then they are to have that product on hand.

That is probably true. I have never used MC for IG applications. It's been many years since I have installed IG's. We used to run EMT or flex with 2 EGC's if fishing down walls.

Not really is pulling 2 EGC's. 1 for standard EGC if flex is over 6' or circuit is over 20 amps and 2nd EGC for IG.

I'm sticking with what I said, you did point out some of the limitations on the flex though.
