Ignorant : extend an outlet Afci place of assembly

Our church wants to put in 2 stair lifts

Looks like we need 2 new plugs that
take very little amp flow

I can extend them from just about anywhere.
My question is can I just extend any old outlet to this point of use, or, more likely I’m sure, will have to provide some arc fault protection for these.


I could ask the inspector, but I’d almost prefer
To confess my ignorance here!

can I just replace the outlet source
with passthrough AFCI
and then extend that
To the downstream AFCi protected outlet?

Arc-faults are not required in churches.

To say it another way, 210.12 is the rule for where they are required. 406.4(D)(4) tells you to go "elsewhere in this Code" to find out the rule.
