I was looking at some manuals online and I was wondering what do we need Ik" value for? And when it comes to withstand rating of the equipment, do we use Ip value or Ik"? Thank you.

I agree with rian0201 :happyyes:.According to IEC 60909-0 ch.4.3 Peak short-circuit current ip, 4.3.1 Three-phase short-circuit 4.3.1.1 Short circuits in non-meshed networks, formula ( 54):
the contribution to the peak short-circuit current from each branch can be expressed by:
Ip=sqrt(2)*K *I"k where K=1.02 + 0.98*exp(-3R/X)
I”k= the initial symmetrical short-circuit current
R and X are the parameters of the system viewed from the short-circuit location.
