Well I know a foreman that always uses single pole 30 amp breakers for temp receptacles on construction sites.

He's just being economical. He's using the temp wiring as job site heaters as well. :roll:

I just installed about a dozen 3000 VA UPS's as well that take a single pole 30A. It's actually getting hard to find double conversion 120v UPS's any more due to the consolidation amongUPS manufacturers and product lines - apparently everyone is content with small static switch units or they install 7 kVA+ systems when they need a "real" double conversion UPS with maintenance bypass switch.
