Impedance vs resistance when referring to ac circuits

Would it be more accurate to use impedance when referring to AC circuits in general. Even if speaking about a purely resistive load on a circuit where the reactance would be 0?

Yes, at least in theory discussions, because even the power wiring has some reactance.

Yes technically, but in the real world reactance at 60hz is fairly minimal unless you are talking lengths approaching thousands of feet or with large conductors, so many people are pretty loose using the word impedance.
