Walking through a new build and saw this gem...
This is an in drawer receptacle in the master bath. Has a 10' 18/3 plug in cord to power it. No support mechanism to keep the cord from falling into the drawer below and getting pinched. In the same drawer are holders for a hair dryer and curling iron. Can you imagine plugging a high amp hair dryer in to this thing?
I could find no UL or ETL stickers.
Would this even pass an inspection? Does it need to since it's a plug in?
This sent me on a wild goose chase to find one that does have ul/etl approval.
The only ones I could find, other than ones that were made of "ul approved components", was from a company called Docking Drawer. Very nicely designed with a thermal cutoff, but also very pricey starting in the mid $200s for a single duplex receptacle.
Any others out there?
