I work on the wholesale side of the business and I had a vendor trying to sell AFCI inline major appliance extension cords. They said it was in response to a proposed 2005 NEC code change. Has anyone heard of such a thing?

What he might be talking about is LCDI. These are leakage current detector interrupters
440.65 in the 2002 NEC.
