First time posting…

I recently purchased a wide belt sander that has a ~25 HP main motor and a 1 HP feeder motor. The ~25 HP motors name plate says 18.9 KW and 59.9 amps at 230V. Currently at my shop I only have 100 amps of single phase power. Which I am realizing is not enough to run a phase converter that could handle that motor. Therefor, my next thought is to get a generator to run it. I’ve read that I need to size the generator 3x the KW rating on the motor. Which would be huge. I’ve found a good deal on 40KW generator that gives me 90 AMPs of 3 phase power. I know that the breaker size is supposed to be 2.5x the FLA, which I obviously would not have with 90 AMPs. My question is could I run the 25HP motor with this generator if I had it on a Soft start / VFD?

Thanks for reading this
