I don’t think I have ever used 220.83 and following, however if I did I probably did it wrong.

Customer wants to add a shop. A split system may be the largest load in the shop but IDK.
Existing has a heat pump.

If trying to determine if there is enough juice, is Table 220.83 what is used?

100% AC
100% heat
8KVA of all other loads (connected) 100%

Freezer, fridge, micro. etc or 1500 x2 SA
40% of remainder

Any guidance would be appreciated.

After reading again!

So the article says the table shall be used for existing and new loads. What if you don’t know a 100%

If I am reading and understanding correctly,
It’s a basic load calculation, adding in the requirements of Table 220.83(B)

How would you figure the load for a new shop that is just an idea in one’s head?

Why do you think or know that it is required to figure 100% of both heat and air?
