Have an office building (federal) where a storage room was relegated to be the IT room housing the computer servers, etc. In an effort to keep the equipment and room cool a mini-split was installed several years ago.
Problem now is that each time the building/town loses power (happens moderately often in rural North Dakota!) the mini-split resets itself and has to be manually turned on and temperature set! Worst case is if power is lost momentarily during the night. Since it's just a storage room nobody goes in on a regular basis to notice that the mini-split has lost power and needs to be reset, and the room is too hot for the computer equipment!

They're wondering about a solution. They're wondering about an indicator light to show either, that the temperature is exceeding a set level, or that that mini-split is in the "off" position (because it lost power during the night) and needs to be turned back on again.
I'm leaning towards a temperature alarm of some sort, so that even if the mini-split is on, but can't keep up with keeping the room cool an alarm (indicator light, or audible alarm) informs people that there's an issue that needs to be dealt with!
Anybody have any input as to something I'm not seeing? Or a better idea/solution ?
Thanks!
