NEC 2008 690.31(E) requires DC PV source circuits to be contained in metal raceways inside the building. Is it acceptable to use AC or MC cable instead of metallic conduit for this purpose? It seems to me hospital grade AC cable best replicates a metallic conduit with enclosed EGC.

In the 2011 code it is allowed provided certain conditions met and measures taken.
