Induced voltage ?

Has anyone came across voltage being induced in a romex that ran parallel with another romex?

Here is the scenario :
There a junction box in the attic 2 circuits are in this box. The first circuit comes from an existing ceiling box a hallway light fixture, there was just a energized switch leg down to a wall switch ( down and return ) in one romex. ( 8 ft) ( we added the switch and wire)
The second circuit originates in the basement( Not connected ), goes up to attic hits a junction box. From that box the romex ( 15 ft ) over to the shared junction box. A romex leaves that box goes down through the same hole into the wall cavity that the switch leg goes through. They run together for maybe 4 - 5 ft, we were getting voltage ( I dont know how many of you use a Volt Tic or similar device) upon getting a meter 50 volts. ( I know you can't always trust a Digital meter) It seemed like the drywallers may have screwed through the wires in the wall. we actually opened a small section of the wall, looked everything over no problem we could find. We drilled another hole from attic into wall cavity pulled put the energized switch leg, put it in its own hole, the problem went away..
Nothing like putting in receptacles checking wires with a Volt Tic finding voltage, but Plug in tester doesn't light when your finished...

Its been a tough week for problemss.
