Anyone familiar with induction lighting? I'm not (but want to learn). Have 2 out of 7 post lamps inoperable. lamp type -Philips QL 55w/840.

Not sure if I replace the screw on lamp, the driver/ballast, or the whole unit. Put in a call to the manufacturer but didn't get a reply yet. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I think I found everything I need in order to properly diagnose the faulty part(s) on the Philips website.

You can buy a cheap fist sized plasma globe toy for $20 or so if you don't already have a fluorescent lamp tester.
You'd have to darken the area first. Get the plasma globe right next to it. If you can get the bulb to glow dimly, it's the driver. Use a common CFL to get a sense of how it glows. The bulb only fails completely if the glass is cracked and air gets in.

It's almost always the driver unless the pole has been backed into by a vehicle which can crack the lamp and lose vacuum even if it doesn't shatter.
