Industrial control panels

I am enlarging an existing panel for the control of some industrial heaters. The new panel came with a back panel that is not painted and just plain raw steel. I thought there was a code in NFPA 70 OR 79 that required it to be painted white. Can someone tell me where to find the regulations for back panels. Or am I confused? Thanks much, Ron

I don't know what your code requires but, for those panels we bought in, the back panel was galvanised sheet steel. Maybe that's what you have?
