We are designing this Industrial Facility. The main production line shop drawings call for 6 different point of connections around the line for powering different pieces of equipment that will be running at the same time, each one of them require a disconnect.

Per my interpretation of the 670.4 (B) all this 6 different pieces of equipment together are considered one individual unit and shall be provided with a single disconnecting mean so that in case of emergency the entire line could be disconnected at once.

I was thinking of providing either an EPO and shunt trips for each breaker or a fused disconnect and tap them with fused disconnect.

This is our first industrial project and i would like to get some feedback regarding this.

Cam any one piece of equipment be taken out of service or is it a production line where stopping one piece of equipment shits down the whole line ?

The only place I have seen the single disconnect accepted is for a multi-motor assembly line where the entire line needs to shut down when any one section is having maintenance.
