Electrical maintenance tech here in California. lm planning on gutting and upgrading a control cabinet for a particular machine kinda weird but this piece equipment has its controls inside an enclosure that’s literally part of the machine frame. 1” walls with all connector fittings for wiring literally tapped into the frame since it’s too thick for lock rings .

These machines are so old it’s hard to tell what was OEM put the other 3 machines have there pneumatics in that particular enclosure and there electrical in a separate one so I have no idea how it ended up like this but there is a chance somebody way back swapped the controls and pneumatics equipment into the others enclosure to make room for something. The controls are secured in a sealed door within the machine frame but I see nothing about ul listing in it. My question is does this make the machine non compliant with code and could we get flagged for this if something ever happened that resulted in investigation from an organization like osha. Was considering moving everything to a new stand alone cabinet on someones recommendation but that makes it much more of a job and idk if there’s even a problem with it how it is. I don’t see anything in code that has a scenario like this. Thanks
