We have a machine here with a label that says 220 Volts and 139.9 FLA. The largest motor is 30kw, continuous duty. There is one other motor that is really small so probably only adds about 5 amps at the max, not continuous duty. Would 1/0 suffice for the supply conductors? I'm looking at 670.4. Is there somewhere else that i should just take the machine FLA and 125%, which would tell me to use 2/0?

If the machine has a label of 139.9 I'd say go with that, it should include all loads within the machine. 125% of that probably is necessary.

Curiousity Question:
220V and motor rated in "KW". Is this a European machine, possibly 50HZ. I know you didn't ask that. I'm just curious.

Article 430.24

30kW = roughly 40HP, at 230V that would be 104A in the NEC chart. 104 x 1.25 = 130A, plus all other loads combined to size your conductors. Most likely if that other load is really small, i.e. fractional HP lube pump or something, the 139A was the MCA value already done for you. But it's worth checking to make sure.

.

Yeah, it's a European machine, but rated 50/60hz. So I should check with the manufacturer to see if they adjusted already for the 125%.
